WA Fish Map — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-16

WA Fish Map (“the App”) is a Washington State fishing map that shows boat launches, piers, rivers, and editorial seasonal guidance. This policy describes what the App accesses and what it does not do.

Data the App accesses on your device

DataWhenWhyLeaves the device?
Location (when in use) After you grant permission Center the map near you and find nearby launches; weather and nearby conditions for the place you are planning On-device for the map. When you view plan-time weather, Apple WeatherKit receives the coordinates needed for that forecast. Map and condition providers receive the area or station needed to answer the request.
Network While online Load WDFW map data, NOAA tides/buoys, USGS river flow, and Apple Weather (WeatherKit) Yes — only to those providers for the request you triggered.

The App does not create an account, does not sell or share personal data with advertisers, and does not use tracking across apps or websites.

Third-party services

Those services receive the coordinates or identifiers needed to answer the request. They are not used to build a profile of you.

Guidance vs regulation

Seasonal ratings and “what’s biting” text are editorial timing guidance, not fishing regulations, bag limits, or open/closed season dates. Always confirm rules in the official Fish Washington materials and at wdfw.wa.gov before you go.

Children

The App is intended for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
